Rest in Peace Nobby gone to join some of his mates from the England 1966 World Cup winners and Man Utd boys. Great tough player of his time. Sincere Condolences to Nobbies family RIP, thanks for the great memories , the false teeth , the socks at the ankles but most of all that wonderful character that was there for all to see, a sad day indeed….from a Scotsman. We’ve lost another one of the all-time greats.. A very dependable defender although a bit aggressive. Condolences to his Family and the football loving fans all around the world.. Oh to have these kind of footballers playing today! Condolences to his family!. Condolences too your family. Endless gratitude to you and your teamates did for us as a country in 66. You will not be forgoten. RIP.. Never had the pleasure of seeing Nobby playing but he’s in Heaven‘’s eleven now god bless Nobby you’ll never be forgotten X. Watched the final in 66. That image of that toothless happy bloke skipping round Wembley with the world cup will stay with me forever.
Rest in peace the legend that is Nobby Stiles. And thank you.. A proper character, and far too modest. I saw him do an after dinner speech once. He said “I won pretty much every trophy in the game by simply kicking someone up in the air, giving the ball to Bobby (Charlton) and then getting out of the f****g way!. I remember Nobby from the days I was stationed in London. He, Bobby Charlton and a host of players from the 1966 WC team were the guys that got me started playing soccer. R.I.P Nobby!. Another sad day for football and losing a legend of the game. They can’t replace footballers of this calibre and a true lover of the game can never forget the likes of Nobby
